MUSTEC ONLINE SURVEY ON “MEASURES TO SUPPORT CSP DEVELOPMENT THROUGHT COOPERATION PROJECTS IN EUROPE

Even though the value of CSP as a dispatchable RE technology that can add to system stability is widely acknowledged and the cost for electricity generated by CSP has dropped significantly in the past years, global CSP deployment has recently shifted away from the former front-runner countries in Europe to markets in Asia and the MENA region.

The European policy framework introduced mechanisms for cooperative RE deployment in 2009 as one option to reach national RE targets. However, so far the suggested cooperation mechanisms have failed to incite relevant developments in cooperative RES deployment and never involved any CSP projects.

A new questionnaire part of the project MUSTEC aims to explore and propose solutions to overcome barriers that hinder the deployment of CSP projects in Southern Europe capable of supplying electricity to Northern European countries.

This questionnaire aims to assess the relevance of these measures in order to develop more targeted recommendations. You will be asked to indicate for each measure how important you think it is to support cooperative CSP deployment in the EU. You can also add comments or additional measures if you think important aspects are missing.

All information will be anonymously.
